Stagestruck Backs Theatre Fundraiser
at Village Underground

The young theatre group, Nabakov, put on the new play ‘Artefacts’ at the Village Underground in May to raise money towards their first production in New York. Stagestruck’s Andy Wheadon and Dan Sargent worked with former Stagestrucker Lewis Howell to create the setting and support the event by supplying sound and lighting equipment. Artistic Director George Perrin said “we just could not have done this without the effort and equipment supplied by Stagestruck.. this has been fantastic.” Liz and Simon were amongst the full house. The Nabakov Theatre group grew out of the Old Vic’s scheme to help young people get into writing and producing for the stage and this event was opened by Old Vic Artistic Director Kevin Spacey.

Mike Bartlett has been called ‘one of the most exciting new talents to emerge in recent times’ (The Stage). His first play My Child was described as brutal, thrilling, unmissable’ (Evening Standard) and ‘the theatrical equivalent of a firecracker’ (Metro).
